Holly Hunter is a well-known American actor as well as producer and director. She has been praised for films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with several awards for her work, including an Oscar. The talented actress began her career in acting by performing on stage, with an array of Broadway and Off-Broadway projects. The actress is a lover of acting from the time she was in school. The first time she appeared in a show in the fifth grade was in Helen Keller. Her mumps left her blind and deaf in one ear. But she did not allow this to hinder her ambitions of becoming an actress. While in college, she took classes in theatre and then moved from Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania to New York City in pursuit of her dreams. Hunter had her Broadway debut after an accidental meeting with Beth Henley, a playwright. They collaborated for Broadway Crimes of the Heart. Hunter made the move from New York to Los Angeles and tried to find film parts. In Swing Shift, she landed the role of a back-up. For the past 30 years Holly Hunter has been on many TV and film shows. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame star and was awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
