Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter is an American actress and producer well recognized for her highly laudable performance in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards, including an Oscar for the film Piano. In her early years, the accomplished actress began playing on stage for a number of Broadway or Off-Broadway productions. As a child, Helen Keller was her favorite character in a 5th year play. She became deaf in one ear due to the mumps virus, however she did not let this disability dampen her desire to be an actress. After studying drama in college, she moved into New York City with her goals in mind. She was introduced to Beth Henley in an elevator and the pair collaborated on Broadway Crimes of the Heart which was Hunter's debut film. Following her move to Los Angeles she tried to get film roles and bagged the role of a co-star in Swing Shift. For the past 30 years Holly Hunter has been on various TV series and movies. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and the Women in Film Lucy Award.
